Established in 1986, Woodcock Lane Dental Care has long been a crucial part of its community. What began as a small four-person team is now a practice that sees thousands of patients every year. Practice Manager and Registered Dental Nurse Jackie Hayes has been at the heart of that journey, joining in 1989 as a trainee and now leading the day to day running of the practice. <\/p>
As the practice expanded, so did the team's understanding of the pressures facing their colleagues. Since then, the practice has made mental health a core focus. Staff have been supported to train as Mental Health First Aiders<\/a> and the team has become increasingly aware of the unique pressures within dentistry: rising workloads, growing regulation and the emotional demand of clinical work. Combined with the stresses people face outside the practice, these challenges can quickly accumulate.<\/p> \u201cDentistry is intense work.
