If you use Ripple\u2019s service<\/h3><\/div><\/div>\n\n

Ripple supports people in distress by redirecting them to mental health support organisations once they have been identified as searching for online content relating to self-harm, suicide or challenges linked to substance misuse, financial wellbeing, gambling addiction, eating disorders, divorce and separation, military to civilian transition, LGBTQ+ struggles, and more.<\/p>\n

We record statistical information on each user who interacts with the Ripple tool, to report on and improve mental health provisions. This information is anonymised, does not contain personal data, and is never used to report on specific individuals. The only personally identifiable information captured by the Ripple tool is the IP address of users for a maximum of a two-week period. This is used to ensure that the Ripple tool is signposting to the correct mental health resources based upon the location of the user.<\/p>\n

Other than the IP addresses for individuals using the Ripple tool, Ripple collects, stores, and handles the below non-personally identifiable information for a variety of purposes, including to inform mental health services and researchers about how they can shape their services according to the statistics gained from the tool:<\/p>\n
